Modifications , Handling:

Fork springs. A must if you want to get rid of the under sprung front end. Cheap mod if you don't want to switch to USD forks.
 

Price             £70-£100

Fully adjustable rear shox. Infinite amount of adjustment from the ohlins units that the OEM fitted shox try to mimic but fail.

Price         £500-£650

Change the tyres. The standard mac 90's are a reasonable all round long lasting tyre but for real grip and feedback fit bridgestone 020's or avon azaro 3's

Price           £160 the pair for avons

£180 the pair for bridgestones

 

Fork Brace. Stiffens up the front end and eliminates flex, not only that it looks well trick too!

Modifications , Power: 

 

Inlet rubbers. The xjr is restricted by reducing the internal diameter of the rubbers fitting fjr rubbers stamped 36y or sourcing aftermarket ones will give you a couple of bhp.

Price  £70-£145

Exhausts. Comes down to personal taste really unless you are looking  for more power which in that case there is only one contender the Akropovic 4-2-1 will add another 10-15bhp and reduce weight.

Price  £500-£700

 Clutch. If you start tuning then your going to need one of these a barnett clutch spring conversion to replace the weak diaphragm clutch spring as fitted to the standard xjr, if you start experience lots of clutch slip chances are its not the plates but the spring a quick cheap fix is to double up the diaphragm spring !

Price £100-£130 plates are extra

 

Engine Work. Where do you start? look in the direction you want to go, just a mild street tune or a full on 1600 turbo straight liner as pictured done by bigcc racing, whatever you do get some professional advice and try and keep to a budget as its a major drain on the finances !
